San Diego, California (April 2018) – Shelley Addy, human resources heavyweight and currently President of Human Resources GPS (HR GPS), is joining Coastal Payroll as Chief Human Resources Officer to advance their comprehensive workforce management suite, Coastal HR Elite, as well as oversee their internal human resources needs. Coastal and Addy have long been associated with each other, but their direct working relationship began in January 2017 when HR Elite was first launched in response to Coastal’s clients’ needs for higher level human resources support. Recognizing that traditional human resources outsourcing has a limited and employee-centric scope, Addy had focused HR GPS on satisfying employer-based HR needs such as building robust infrastructures and improving employee relations. It was this vision that caught the attention of Coastal Payroll and led them to partner with HR GPS.
Coastal President, Craig Coleman, and Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Gallagher remarked on the beginning of their relationship with Addy and HR GPS, “In our first 12 months, we had much success with the service. We signed up more accounts than expected and we've learned a lot about the HR consulting space and how we can add value to our clients. We see huge potential in this space and we're ready to build our team to meet this demand.” Officially joining May 1st, Addy is also bringing over Justina Davis to provide critical support to HR Elite clients.
Developing HR solutions that go beyond employee safeguarding, Addy’s 30 year career in senior-level operations and human resources management had a humble beginning. Working for a Halloween costume manufacturer start-up, Addy watched her employer hire upwards of 700 temporary employees every summer. Their first year in business they cleared a revenue of 1 million dollars; by the 2nd year they had grown into a 7 million dollar business and were poised to double. Addy reached out to senior leadership and pushed to build out an HR department in order to reduce their risk. From there, Addy was hooked on helping businesses and entrepreneurs set up risk-reducing policies and organizational planning.
“Most employers want to do the right thing, but they don't know what they don't know,” Addy comments, “We help protect small to medium-sized employers from themselves by giving them the tools they need to function well from a human resources standpoint.”
