We recognize and celebrate that every business is different. We know you’ve created your own systems, culture, and methods that work for you. That’s why we created HR Elite — to help HR departments, managers, and business owners navigate the world of HR, especially in California, in a way that aligns with their philosophies and practices. It’s about customization, not control or conformity.
“We aren’t the HR police…”
The first thing we want you to know is that we don’t see ourselves as the HR police. We aren’t here to come in with a list of changes you have to enforce. We want you to think of us as:
- A navigator, showing you the way to your goals of compliance and efficiency
- A lifeguard, pointing out risks ahead and offering lifelines to better practices
- An architect, laying a strong foundation and creating a blueprint for future success
Choose your analogy, but just know we’re here to help you find a way to proceed that makes sense for your business. Not every business has to approach the laws in the exact same manner. You do have to follow the laws, but we can help you find a way that conforms with your business.
Here’s how we do custom HR
1. Kickoff Meeting
Once you’re on board the HR Elite program, we send a couple HR team members to you for a kickoff meeting. This is rather casual and all about getting to know you, your business, and your workplace. We want to hear about your values and what drives you.
Now it’s time to get a little more formal. But don’t worry — we’ll lead the way. We have a series of questions we need to ask to get an idea of your current HR department and structure. We’ll also collect some documents so we can get a clear picture of what’s working and how we can help.
3. Strategic Plan
Using the audit information and what we know about your business, we create a strategic plan that details next steps and long-range goals. This is all about you. We don’t use a boilerplate or present the same findings over and over. We create this custom plan based on what you’ve shared and what we’ve discovered. We’ll share the plan with you and give you a chance to provide feedback.
When we’re all on the same page, we dive in with step one. For some, that’s creating an employee handbook. For others, it’s conducting an employee satisfaction review. What will that first step look like for you?
